Description
libpng is fairly behind. Do we have instructions for doing an upgrade? I can give a go at doing an upgrade.

It has been fixed in #6184 . You should have received an email notification. Check your email is valid in https://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/prefs

Yes, sorry. I should have referenced #6184. I was testing only with an old libpng from ubuntu 14.04 and with the internal libpng. My mac laptop has 1.6.18 from fink, but I don't work from there very often. (and trac now has my email, thanks Even!)

I've opened a bug the same day related to a compilation error in gdal internal libpng with gcc 5.1.1.
I don't find it anymore in the tracker...Is this somehow related to this task?
