Description
Trying to work-out some ntf (NITF) files containing WorldView 01/02 and QuickBird images.
While querying the ntf files with gdalinfo, for example, warnings such as
like: "Warning 1: Unable to save auxilary information in /vsisubfile/3884_471349721,10APR13WV020600013APR10075059- P1BS-500060446050_05_P003.ntf.aux.xml."
are reported. How important are such warnings? Can they be effectively silenced?

Warnings are telling about non-critical errors but thinking of typical use of gdalinfo they can be important. I can imagine that silencing warnings would be good if gdalinfo is used inside some scripts. However, scripting gives also other means for skipping warnings which are known to be uninteresting.
I am almost ready to close this ticket as "wontfix" but maybe a well described use case with sample data can make me to change my mind.
