I had a hard time figuring out how to search the mailing list and others have asked about it as well. Attached is a patch to add the nabble link, http://osgeo-org.1803224.n2.nabble.com/GDAL-Dev-f2022644.html, to the webpage.
I didn't build the docs to test it, so it needs to be reviewed to make sure it is ok. I also don't know if that link is stable. Will it change in the future? Looks like it has been the same for at least a year.
Perhaps down the line, we can extend the nabble archives to search earlier than 2005.

I have the vague sense that folks are unable to post through nabble. I get a couple complaints to gdal-dev-admin a week that I believe are due to this. On this basis I'm concerned about promoting it. I'll try to raise the issue with then new OSGeo nabble admins (Jorge and Mateusz).
