several improvement :

  • writing functionality for QUBE object
  • grab null value
  • improve the type reading
  • can read qube core with back plane, side plane and bottom plane
  • can read a file with label detached or attached
  • enhancement of detection of QUBE, IMAGE, SPECTRAL_QUBE object (limit to the first kB header).

If I understand right this patch has never been tested, commented or anything.

Looks actually like a duplicate of #3944 which is fixed and contains the same patch.
