Ok, this might be a duplicate of ticket #2375, but I'm creating it since the latter is 2 years old (!) and it was for v1.5.1
The issues are exactly the same, I did everything like it is stated there (besides tiff.h, in which I commented out only line 77, ifndef in all 68-78 creates more problems than it solves).
But still, I'm stuck at:
"sdk/core/pcidsk_utils.cpp", line 114.7: 1540-0040 (S) The text "PCIDSK::atoint64" is unexpected. "int64" may be undeclared or ambiguous.

http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/ticket/2375 was closed a few days ago, this duplicate can be closed too.

Without access to an AIX system it is hard to address this.
