Description
It is desirable for the HDF4 driver to support updating existing files of the various types in place. Please start by testing whether updating "SDS" style HDF4 files works properly with the existing driver (and extending the HDF4 test scripts to check this).
Once that is working smoothly, please look into extending it to allow in place update of existing HDF-EOS datasets (grid, and swath).
