This problem was reported on IRC: 

[20:37]  <darkblueB> >>the one that got stuck was embedded HTML
with self-closure <br/> inside <description>.. it was fixed
but th efix wasn't good in all cases, which is a bad sign
with something like a parser

Can you please describe the problem and provide an example kml file? I fixed a bug (in rev 23) that led to an endless loop with html in descriptions.
